Gerrit J. Stemerdink has a huge experience in data analysis. He was employed at institutes for educational research and for research into criminality. In the eighties he was responsible for all statistical software at Wageningen University as head of the Applications Department of the University Computing Centre. After a rather early retirement halfway the nineties, he is a volunteer at the Permanent Office of the International Statistical Institute ISI. From the first issue on he has been Copy Editor of STAtOR, a publication of the VVSOR. He is an Elected Member of the ISI and an Honorary Member of the VVSOR.
